Schools and businesses have more technology today than ever before. But that does not necessarily mean they are making full use of it.
During inspections of 78 primary schools in Slovakia in the 2024/2025 school year, the Slovak State School Inspectorate rated their facilities and technical equipment at 89.5%. At the same time, it pointed out that the potential of digital technology often remains untapped.
We see similar situations in businesses. A meeting room has a screen, but people are still searching for the right cable before a meeting. A laptop has sufficient processing power but cannot run Windows 11. Or a workplace is equipped with technology that does not match how people actually use it.
So when buying equipment, do not start with the specifications. Start with what people will be doing in that particular space every day.
Classroom: technology that gets more than one person involved
In a classroom or training room, simply displaying content is no longer enough. Increasingly, teachers and students need to be able to interact with it directly.
An interactive display lets users write, move and zoom in on content, or work together at the same time. A model with a built-in computer also works independently, so there is no need to connect a laptop before every lesson.
You will also need a reliable laptop for the teacher and, in computer labs, devices with enough performance to remain useful for years to come.

Office: laptop or desktop computer?
The way people work is what matters most here.
A laptop is more practical for someone working from home, moving between offices or attending meetings. At a reception desk, in an accounting department or at another fixed workstation, a desktop computer may be a better choice.
For everyday office work, we recommend at least:
- 8 GB of RAM and an SSD, preferably 16 GB of RAM for more demanding tasks
- a device compatible with Windows 11
- business laptop ranges such as HP EliteBook, Dell Latitude or Lenovo ThinkPad
- a suitably chosen monitor for a fixed workstation
If you need to print in larger volumes, one networked laser printer for the entire department may be more practical than several smaller devices.
Choose from our refurbished laptops, desktop computers, monitors and printers.
Meeting room: the fewer obstacles, the better
A good meeting room should work without time-consuming setup.
An interactive display can be used for presentations, video calls and collaborating on content. Models with an integrated camera and microphone eliminate the need for additional devices on the table, while wireless screen sharing makes it easier to connect laptops.
Screen size matters too. Around 65 inches may be sufficient for smaller meeting rooms, while 75 to 86 inches is more suitable for larger spaces.

Windows 10: check which devices you still have
Support for Windows 10 ended on 14 October 2025. Organisations that needed more time to move to Windows 11 could use paid Extended Security Updates (ESU).
The first year of ESU ended on 13 October 2026. The second year runs from 14 October 2026 to 12 October 2027. Microsoft lists business pricing of USD 61 per device for Year 1 and USD 122 for Year 2. Organisations joining in the second year must also pay for the first-year licence. Local-currency pricing and licensing terms for educational institutions may differ.
If your business or school still has computers running Windows 10, now is a good time to carry out a simple review:
- which devices support Windows 11,
- which are worth upgrading,
- and which would be more cost-effective to replace.
We covered this topic in more detail in our article The end of Windows 10 support: what it means and how to prepare without unnecessary costs.
Why refurbished technology makes sense
You do not always need to buy brand-new devices for an office, classroom or workstation.
Refurbished business-grade technology can deliver the performance you need for everyday work at a significantly lower price.
Devices at Techsavers go through a refurbishment process at our centre in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. Regardless of cosmetic grade, they are 100% functional and come with:
- a 2-year warranty
- 30 days to return your purchase
- free delivery
- certified erasure of previous data
A device’s cosmetic condition affects its price, not its functionality. We explain the differences between grades in our article What our quality grades mean.
Answer these 5 questions before buying
Before equipping an office, classroom or meeting room, ask yourself:
- What will people do in this space every day?
- How many people will use the technology?
- Which devices are still running Windows 10?
- What will happen to the old equipment and the data on it?
- Is it more cost-effective to buy devices individually or equip several workstations at once?
Well-chosen technology has one major advantage: people simply use it.
